Application data of Aqua Way HPLC column Series
This page highlights the application data on Aqua Way Philic and Aqua Way Cation.
- Direct analysis of human serum with durability data by column pressure and peak area (Aqua Way Philic and Aqua Way Cation )
- Separations of small molecules under 100% aqueous conditions (Aqua Way Philic )
- Separation of proteins (chymotrypsinogen A and albumin) under aqueous solution (Aqua Way Cation and Aqua Way Cation )
- Separation of nucleotide (AMP, ADP and ATP) (Aqua Way Cation )
- Separation of NADP+ / NADPH (Aqua Way Cation )
1. Direct analysis of human serum (Aqua Way Philic and Aqua Way Cation ).
Direct analysis of human serum
- The PIPAAm grafted temperature-responsive surface of the beads is designed to release serum at molecule releasing temperature.
- Therefore direct analysis of bioactive molecules within the serum is possible.
- By optimizing the column temperature for such analysis, calibration curve for drug concentration can be calculated.
- Particularly suitable for therapeutic drug monitoring where no known antibodies to be used for ELIZA are available such as leads compounds.

Remarkable durability! No cloggings observed beyond 100th analysis!
- The surface of the beads is highly resistent to the adherence of the component of the serum, thus achieving high durability.
- No change in the peak area or the peak shape observed beyond 100th analysis of serum. The constant column pressure also backs up the durability data of the column.

2. Separation of small molecules under 100% aqueous condition (Aqua Way Philic ).
- The surface of the beads for Aqua Way Philic changes its hydrophobicity depending on the temperature.
- Lower the temperature, the higher the hydrophilicity of the beads' surface, leading to shorter retention time.

3. Separation of proteins (chymotrypsinogen A and albumin) under 100% aqueous solution
(Aqua Way Philic and Aqua Way Cation ).
 |
| Sample: Chymotrypsinogen A (Aqua Way Philic ) |
- Suitable for separating hydrophobic proteins with small molecular weight of less than MW25,000.
- Samples that can not be separated at 40℃ may be analyzable by using temperature-gradient similar to that of conventional elution gradient.
 |
| Sample: Albumin (Aqua Way Cation ) |
- By optimizing the elution condition, larger molecules such as albumin can also be separeted.
4. Separation of anionic molecules (AMP, ADP and ATP) (Aqua Way Cation ).
- The strength of the cationic charge of the beads can be controlled by controlling column temperature.
- Higher the temperature, the longer the retention time as the surface charge.
